New novels!

I was a busy girl. Very busy. I have three new books out:

It’s always a terrible fuddle until you’ve got it all correct, have sliced your path through Amazon KDP, until even the last robot spirit is satisfied with the manuscript or the cover. It could give you grey hairs, but then I’ve already got those. A positive experience: nice KDP staff actually helped me.

But now they are out, the novels: at the moment just as print editions, I still have to tackle the e-books, but I needed the printed books right away because I will have a book table at a steampunk festival at the end of the month. And since it always takes a while to get the print on demand books printed and sent, I couldn’t wait.

So: print editions now – e-books very soon.

“Gefangene des Panthers” (Prisoners of the Panther) originally was one single novel that I had to cut into two parts because it was too long for one book.

Gefangene des Panthers – Teil 1: Verräterinnen (Prisoners of the Panther – Part 1: Traitors) in German

There is no worse crime in Trurien than being magically gifted. Magic as a monopoly of power belongs exclusively to the “Kerend” – and to his will-less servile task force of “Unchosen”: They are his slayers and executioners – his merciless inquisition.
Aënahya does not know that she possess such a fobidden gift. She fails her test. Now she is to become one of the Unchosen herself: completely mind-ruled by Kerend, cruel and feared by all. Suddenly however the legendary panther werbeasts of the GreyWarls attack the Closed City of Dintulon. Aënahya manages to escape – only half transformed into one of the “Unchosen”. Now she finds herself in the clutches of the grim creatures, who are part panther and part panther-like were-men.
Soon not only the Kerend is chasing her with his magic-wielding Unchosen and his merciless knights, but so do the predatory GreyWarls, from whom she seeks to flee as well. Her escape becomes a fight for freedom and against the tyranny of a ruler who delights in governing everyone’s thoughts, feelings and actions down to the smallest detail. There is no turning back, even if victory seems unattainable. Freedom always has its price.

Gefangene des Panthers – Teil 2: Monden-Feinde  (Prisoners of the Panther – Part 2: Enemies below the Moons) in German

There is no worse crime in Trurien than being magically gifted. Magic as a monopoly of power belongs exclusively to the “Kerend” – and to his will-less servile task force of “Unchosen”: They are his slayers and executioners – his merciless inquisition.
Aënahya is on the run. The “Kerend” has sent the Unchosen and the murderous Knights after her. She has escaped from the GreyWarls, those grim werepanthers, but they too are already pursuing her. She has joined the travelling merchant people of the Gopts, and here, too, many believe that she had better be killed before she brings the Kerend, the Unchosen, the GreyWarls and other deadly trouble upon the merchant folk, which also includes magic gifted members of the Secret Guild.
Nevertheless, she is now on her way with a small group of Gopts and an advisory stone. Stored in this stone are the souls of her murdered governess and the mother of Meriur, one of the Gopts, who seems to be the only one on her side. Her own magic connects the different kinds of magic. This makes her the hope of those who after a thousand years wish to overthrow the regime.

“Gefangene des Panthers” is a low fantasy novel with a heroes’/heroine’s journey: very classic and straightforward: magic, enemies, monsters, tyrants, courage and selflessness in an invented world, just as you would expect from a fantasy novel.
Suspense. Combats. Danger. Loyalty. And, of course, affection, but this is no romance novel. The focus is on fight, flight and survival. The heroes and heroines don’t stop to cuddle under every blueberry bush. In fact, there are no blueberry bushes in Trurien. – Other things, however, do exist.

“Gefangene des Panthers” = “Prisoners of the Panther”.
If you read German, have a go! „Gefangene des Panthers
