And now out in English!

“Prisoners of the Panther” (Gefangene des Panthers) has now been published in English. As in the German version, the story has once again been released as a duology, with the following subtitles:

– Part 1 – “Traitors”

and

Part 2 – “Moon Foes”

“Prisoner of the Panther” is a classic fantasy novel, a heroine’s journey. Male heroes, as well as the most villainous of villains, naturally feature, along with a few extremely devious and powerful women who serve their master unconditionally. The book features not only humans, but also very dangerous werpanthers. Magic, in its various forms, is practised by different groups.

It is about oppression and freedom, and about the need to stand up even against an overwhelming force of evil.

So what is it about?

– It is about tyranny and the misuse of power.

– It is about the monopoly of power in the hands of the one person using magic as a tool and weapon for absolute rulership.

– Anyone showing a talent for magic will be stripped of their personality and their own mind.

– These mindless followers become the ruler’s inquisition, hunting and killing anyone who tries to escape this fate.

– The book is also about the courage to resist power, to break with useless traditions and instilled thought patterns that help no one but those in power.

– The book is about the ability to find new allies and fight for a common goal with people who according to your inbred indoctrination are worthless.

– The book is about a highborn lady with a will of her own.

– About itinerant traders of ill repute.

– And about feral and murderous werepanthers purported to be the ultimate foes of the realm.

The setting is archaic.
The problem is timeless and universal.

Blurb:

There is no worse crime in Truria than being magically gifted. Magic is a monopoly of power that belongs exclusively to the KEREND – and to his submissive brutal task force of Unchosen. These women are his slayers and executioners – his inquisition.

Aënahya does not know that she possesses this forbidden talent. She fails her test. Now she is to be made into one of the Unchosen: completely controlled by the Kerend, cruel and feared by all. But then the legendary were-panthers, the Greyweres, attack the Closed City of Dintulon. Aënahya – only half-transformed – manages to escape. Now she finds herself in the clutches of the fierce were-creatures.
Soon it is not only the Kerend chasing her with his magically powerful Unchosen and his merciless knights. Her escape becomes a fight for freedom against the tyranny of a sovereign who delights in ruling everyone’s thoughts, feelings and actions down to the last detail. There is no turning back, even if victory seems unattainable. Freedom always comes at a price.
